Ava Sakowski Marketing has chosen to support HomesNow Not Later as our Non-profit of the month!
Tired of the relentless bad news about homelessness? Imagine a small, exciting solution that offers a beacon of hope for those recovering from trauma. This isn’t just a temporary fix; it’s a potential blueprint for an inexpensive, viable bridge to stability and recovery for countless others, with the potential to be replicated in Whatcom and Skagit Counties, and across our state and nation.
Doug Gustafson Chairman of Homes Now, a Whatcom County-based 510(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to ending homelessness.
Doug details the successes of communities like the North Haven Tiny Home Community, where residents actively participate in building and managing their own shelters. This unique approach not only provides immediate housing but also equips individuals with valuable construction and life skills, fostering self-sufficiency. Recently interviewed on iChange Justice Podcast, Doug estimates the cost of a tiny home NOW is about $6500, so with $100 a piece and 650 people, we can build a home for someone and help them on their way to a recovery or bridge to a possibility of recovery. I am proud to support this local non-profit!
